General Guidelines/ Rules

  

  • NO WALK-ONS.  All participants must be pre-registered and prepaid in order to attend this event.  Any person who is not will be asked to leave.

 

  • All participants must pass a weapon inspection before being allowed on the site.  Kits shall likewise be inspected to ensure the possibility of someone being injured is minimized.  All cartridge boxes must have tins.  

 

  • No participant shall be allowed on the site until they have filled out and signed a Waiver of Liability. 

 

  • Participants must be at least 16 years of age to attend this event.  Identification will be required upon registration.  Parent or legal guardian signature required for anyone under 18 years of age.

 

  • Participants will be inspected prior to entering the event site.  Things that will be checked for include, but are not limited to:  clean weapon, number of cartridges, all blades covered, and uniform and equipment authenticity. 

 

  • Participants shall register as privates of infantry or cavalry, unless specifically asked by one of the company commanders to serve in a position of rank.   

 

  • A-frame tents are permitted for the Federal troops in garrison.  All others shall be limited to shelter halves, tent fly, and oilcloth. 

 

  • Each participant is asked to bring a minimum of two (2) gallons of drinking water for their own use.  Water shall be distributed in several “water holes”, whose locations will be known by the officers of either side. 

 

  • Please be sure to eat supper on Friday before you arrive.  A ration issue will be provided on Saturday morning.   

 

  • Eyeglasses shall be of proper period design only.  Contacts are permitted, hide the solution. 

 

  • Medication is allowed.  Keep it hidden. 

 

  • Any special medical considerations should be brought to the attention of the event coordinator. If a participant is not capable of marching long distances or manual labor, they should not register. 

 

  • Participants will be limited to a MAXIMUM of eighty (80) rounds per man. 

 

  • Side arms shall only be carried by officers and mounted cavalry, and shall be limited to twenty (20) rounds packed in cartridge form.  Only one sidearm permitted per person.  No exceptions. 

 

  • Sabers and/or swords shall be carried by officers and mounted Federal cavalry ONLY.  No exceptions.

 

  • The only vehicles allowed on the site at any time shall be those of the Event Coordinator or the landowner.  These vehicles will only enter the site in the event of an emergency. 

 

  • No cameras.  There will be designated picture-takers in each company.  They will be discreet.

 

  • Registration fee for this event will be $15.  This fee will go toward the ration issue.  Any money left over will be donated to FortPillowState Park.
